We are happy to announce availability of initial stable bootable ISO of 64-bit AROS. Switching to 64-bit architecture will allow AROS to keep up to date with technology and other open source projects which are more and more favoring 64-bit as well. In coming months Odyssey Web Browser will be updated with more powerful and modern versions of WebKit engine, utilizing larger amounts of RAM and 64-bit JIT compilation allowing today's websites to be used on AROS in comfortable way. Latest Amiga emulation cores, again with 64-bit JIT, will also become available and better integrated into the system.

Distributions using this base system are already in development and should be available soon.
On Amiga's 40th anniversary, join AROS community as we migrate this year to 64-bits!
