I've stumbled across a few DIY discriptions, the following seems to be the most common:

Can anyone comment on this one? Is it a working one?

Yes, the HwB one is a good one. (I tested it on a SCART monitor)
Yet you have to have a good telly :boohoo: (I don't have a good telly)

I made up a long cable to use with my RGB Television, and had annonoted pinouts in my Australian 1084 (Mk1) monitor handbook.
(SCART Pins on left - annonoted D23 pins in {})
Pin
2 - Audio input (RH) to Red RCA
4 - Earth connection for Audio
5 - Earth connection B input { to D19 }
6 - Audio input (LH) to White RCA
7 - B input { to D5 }
9 - Earth connection G input { to D17 }
11 - G input { to D4 }
13 - Earth connection R input { to D16 }
15 - R input { to D3 }
16 - Fast blanking
17 - Earth connection CVBS { common to D20 }
18 - Fast blanking { common to D20 }
20 - CVBS input (sync Lin RGB) { to D10 }
21 - Screening plug
My notes indicate that SCART Pins 17 & 18 are bridged, and share a connection to D20. SCART Pin 21 is[/i] actually the SCART plug's outer metal shell. An older name (for SCART) from the late '70s is Peri(pheral)television connector.
My RGB Television's handbook indicates that SCART Pin 16 is for RGB Switching, and I have pencilled-in to connect that to D23 ( +5 at 100mA ). SCART Pin 8 is used to switch the TV to AV when Composite is connected via SCART cable.
When an Amiga was powered-up (using THIS cable) it did, in fact, switch the TV to the Amiga's RGB.
Currently a Denon RGB DVD player switches TV to RGB when it is powered-up.

I just chased down THIS:

Pin 16 is "fast blanking". It should *NOT* be tied to +5V, since this voltage
is outside the SCART spec, and causes some TVs to completely blank the screen.
The correct thing to do for RGB sources, is to connect pin 16 *through a 100
ohm resistor* to +5V. That gives a voltage in the correct range, and should
work on all SCART TVs.

Pins 8 and 16 on a SCART port as supposed to be used to select different
kinds of source signals (UHF, RGB or Composite video), my TV didn't
seem to care so I left them unconnected, but here is the coding
table just incase.
Pin 8 Pin 16
0 0 UHF
0 1 RGB
1 0 Composite video
1 1 RGB
