Title: Transfer WHDLoad games to Vampire V4
Post by: sturulez on April 14, 2025, 08:24:55 PM
Hi,

Can someone please tell me the best way to transfer my WHDLoad  collection of games from the CF card on my Amiga 1200 to my standalone Vampire V4.

Would I be able to plug the CF card into my PC and transfer them onto the V4 CF card without any issues?

Thanks

Is the Vampire V4 setup on your home network? I.e Roadshow TCP/IP stack up and running? If so you could try a network share with Samba.

Failing that. Use WinUAE with a pre-setup AmigaOS on a HDF, then add the V4 CF card and A1200 CF.

Remember Amigas use bespoke filesystems. Windows can only see NTFS, FAT, Ex-FAT natively.

Whould have to agree, WinUAE is easier, just remember to set the buffers on partitions.
Before I knew about buffers, I had my WHDLoad drive copying over for 3 days, lol. As soon as I sorted buffers, 10 mins.

Insert your A1200’s CF into Vampires CF adapter and copy its contents to Vampire’s microSD 😃

This would be a brilliant idea but A1200 is using a SD card rather than a CF card  :'(
