Title: Amiga OS 4.1 Support
Post by: paulthetall on April 09, 2025, 12:59:25 PM
Hi! Would be great we had support for the download section for Amiga OS 4.1 and Amiga OS 3.2. just like Amibench now. I mean complete preinstalled downloads in the download section after entering the serial of your registered version of the Amiga OS.

That would be a powerful option of the A1200NG or A600GS to have these things pre-installable for purchase or after registering/filing in a serial.

Not sure I follow, OS4.1??? It will never run OS4.1.
As for preinstalled OS3.2, won't happen. Best you can do is setup 3.2 as you normally would on an A1200 within NG. Like you can already do on A600GS.

Amiga OS 4.1 and 3.2 are owned by Hyperion Entertainment

Amiga OS 4.1 is for PowerPC systems.

Yeah thats the issue, somehow I haven't managed to do so yet (HDD not recognised/booting on A600GS and stuff like that). Eagerly waiting for A600GS to have ability to setup/create own hdd, so I can buildup the Amiga OS from scratch from the A600GS itself.

Maybe this video could be of help? It is about setting it up on A1200NG, but should be more or less the same for the A600GS. :)

Thanks! I got stuck at the hardfile part at 6:14 which requires to be preconfigured in winue. I have a Mac and somehow with FS-UAE those hardfiles I create there aren't picked up by A600GS system.

Just use Amiberry on Mac to create a HDF -> https://github.com/BlitterStudio/amiberry/releases

You can do this already. There is no need for a hard disk file, use the Drawer based virtual drives, (like SystemV46 uses)  they are faster more flexible (they can grow as big as needed, up size of sd card) and have other benefits. Hard disk file are only useful for mass importing on existing installations.

Is there a tutorial for that?
