Title: Dual Boot AmigaOS3.2/Workbench 1.3
Post by: DeyMey on March 09, 2025, 04:29:34 PM
Hello everyone
I have an Amiga 2000 with a Vampire V2 installed and I use a CF Card as a hard drive.
In this hard drive there is a DH0 partition with AmigaOS 3.2 and a DH1 partition with Workbench 1.3.
My intention would be to do a kind of dual-boot so that when the startup-sequence detects Kickstart 3.1 it boots the DH0 partition, when it detects version 1.3 it boots the DH1 partition.
I tried both to do it with ChatGPT or using an online guide found at this address:

https://www.pureamiga.co.uk/2021/08/30/dual-booting-workbench/ (https://www.pureamiga.co.uk/2021/08/30/dual-booting-workbench/)

Although it works with WB 1.3/3.1, with AmigaOS instead of 3.1 it no longer works.
I hope that some of you can create a startup-sequence suitable for the purpose.
Thank you!

Though there's really no good reason for that guide to not work with 3.2 as far as I can see, a more convenient option still might be to simply run 1.3 and its applications from WHDLoad.

Have a look at this:

https://aminet.net/package/util/boot/ltx-cb12

Might be worth a try. Allows for multiple SS. Works with OS 3.2

Good luck.
