Title: Amiga disk/software archivist
Post by: bozimmerman on February 11, 2025, 04:30:17 PM
Hello all,

I'm wondering if someone can point me at an Amiga disk or software archivist or preservationist who might be interested in some images which might be unusual?

I have about 100mb of Amiga disk images (adf, dms, and a smattering of lha) that I've scanned in from a collection I picked up some 30 years ago.  I imagine much of it is mundane, but it was pointed out to me that DevCon disks, and others which might be of interest to the community.  If this were 8-bit stuff, I'd have an idea of who to go to, but with Amiga stuff, I just don't know.

Thanks for any response,
- Bo Zimmerman

Hello Bo,
  I would try to reaching out to intric8 (memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=2&sid=2aa3ad98b33d6867d5e1ba49a9ce360b (http://memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=2&sid=2aa3ad98b33d6867d5e1ba49a9ce360b)) over at amigalove.com https://www.amigalove.com/ (https://www.amigalove.com/).

Just last month he announced the opening of their new software archive project (https://www.amigalove.com/viewtopic.php?t=2835 (https://www.amigalove.com/viewtopic.php?t=2835)) and I bet he would host the files.

Good luck and I can't wait to see what's on your disks

p.s. On a side note he's also archiving old user group newsletters.  His first one is FANTASTIC!!   What an AWESOME snapshot of the early days https://www.amigalove.com/viewtopic.php?t=2849 (https://www.amigalove.com/viewtopic.php?t=2849)
