I wouldn’t know 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Just tried getting on as a “Guest” no login for obvious reasons on Safari. No issues. Been in the Hardware Support forum. No issues.
Possible database issue for members? Or RPUK has been let loose 😉😆

There's a couple of threads on EAB about it saying basically AI bots are logging on exponentially as registered users do, as some sort of data harvest for AI learning. I checked once and 26 members were logged on and 7360 guest users .... then 14000 or more guest users came on. Don't know what they will do about that.

Easy, do what we did here and block the ip's of certain known bots.
I remember the Admin posting a while back, saying hs is not interested in EAB any more. Shame as things take very long to get done.
Fedup of seeing that snowman. Pointless posting about it as nothing will get done til June. Silly really, as on my own sites, I added code to make it auto change for Christmas.

And its down again, :(.

The irony, when Amigakit  killed this site by taking the site down for months and months and months

This site is shadow of  its former self :( and I've been here for 26 years

An alternative theory I've come across is, what was going on with Commodore and maybe even Atari in the 80's-90's went with Sony in Japan later - and NONE of the recent interests such as Hyperion, A-Eon(?), Amigakit, Retropassion UK, TF cards, OS 3.2x and even Retro Fusion in OZ have anything to do with the furtherance of the Amiga, only themselves. Which is a lie.  ::)

Not the intention. If I had not stepped in and basically hijacked server. It would have been down even longer (may never have come back).
I did what I could, it wasnt easy fixing the mess of a database, left by previous owners. Thankfully, I was able to sort it and preserve everything.
I also have another working backup (test with basic database) of Amiga.org on my own server. So should worst happen, we have that, as I do regular database backups. Something good to come out of it all.

Well a big thanks from me….But as we all know, working in I.T is a thankless task. 🙄

hey guys it was not a bots problem , things are more serious  :-X

here are the last words  RCK said on the EAB irc channel:

"Hello guys, the forum is 24 years old now and has lasted long enough. I'm bankrupt and can no longer afford this domain because the donations aren't enough.
My wife is divorcing me and she  will be taking my house and most of my belongings, which are also just debts. In a a few days I'll be homeless and, of course, I'll have other priorities than Amiga's business. I hope you understand. I wish you all the best, RCK."

Do you have a link to the above? I went on as a guest and all looked fine to me 🤔 Unfortunately I can’t logon due to obvious reasons 🙄

No, because it's a load of nonsense.

Indeed, it's been thoroughly debunked on EAB: https://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=1749460&postcount=219, RCK has no clue what this looney is talking about.

Good, would have hated it if that were true. As EAB is one of the oldest Amiga Forums out there.
