Title: Why am I getting these pop-up error messages?
Post by: garyg on January 14, 2025, 10:40:22 PM
I have an A4000/060 desktop running OS 3.9 without any Boing Bags installed
on a Picasso IV.

Every so often I get a pop-up message like one of these two when running
Bars&Pipes Professional. After I click on OK I can go back to the program.

Would installing Boing Bag 1 fix this?

Regards to all and thanks in advance for any advice,
Gary

That’s nothing to do with boing bags I’m afraid. Although ideally you should at least be on BB2.

That error is to Down to your SCSI devices. I take it you have a SCSI HDD or the like? Such as a Phase 5 or DCE?

Have had these errors. It maybe down to a failing drive, damaged cable or more likely a Termination issue on the chain.
Also check if you are using some wrong SCSI setting. Such as a device like a CD drive. These sometimes need to be set to Asynchronous or synchronous as it’s running too fast and losing connection.

OK, thanks. The internal CD-ROM has been acting up for months (making noises) and is not working.

Most likely, I think, is the 730 MB SCSI HD, which is almost 30 years old (and otherwise still working!)
