Hi everyone,
Toohey's Tech & Gaming made a video about the A600GS hooked up to an old CRT TV! ;D He plays various games like James Pond 2 - Robocod and Holiday Lemmings 1994.

A nice idea I think. Definitely going to try this myself with an old, small Philips one I have in storage.
Anyone else having tried the GS on a CRT?

Nope, definitely not. One of the plus points of the A600GS is HDMI and to NOT have to use a CRT. :P
Also, as you can see the A600GS main menu does not work well on low resolutions.

This !
I'm glad I don't have to deal with old CRTs anymore, my eyes aren't the best anymore anyways ;D

Some interesting explaining/views here on why CRT is prefered by retro gamers.

But how upscaling from PAL to 1080p and then down to PAL again, I am not sure how it would look. That result shown in the youtube video probably looks different than when looking at the screen yourself.

@amyren
I'll give it a try myself to check. :) Will let you know how it looks. Even though the menus will be partly outside the borders, the games themselves should fit fine. That said, I'm happy with using an LCD, but always nice to experiment a bit. ;-)

The same happens on my 1080p TV.

This CRT story is well worth a watch even if you never want to use a CRT again.
