Title: Savegame and controllers
Post by: amyren on December 29, 2024, 09:06:39 PM
Just realized that if saving a game state while playing with my bluetooth controller then I can not resume the game later using the standard usb controller.
I can quit the game and start it from scratch, and then the USB controller works. Then quit and load the mentioned savestate and the usb controller doesnt work, and I can not seem to activate it after the game is launched.

Same with saving a game state when played with 9pin Competition, vs. trying to load it later using the USB controller.

Though this may not be easy to fix... IMHO a save state is simply a RAM-dump of the machine's state at that moment. When the controller is changed 'during' this doesn'T seem to match with the RAM-dump. I guesstimate this will be the same running standalone Amiberry/WinUAE on other hardware.

The difference is that on WinUAE or Amiberry with GUI you can enter the settings and change input settings in the middle of a game, so you can load the savestate and change the controller and save the state again.

Look at the idea from broadblues in this post (https://forum.amiga.org/index.php?topic=76941.msg861842#msg861842), now if that is implemented and also made available for selection in the F12 menu it might help.
