Title: Amiga 500+ With Emu68 & Wifipi - How BBS?
Post by: rafa1138 on December 01, 2024, 07:37:07 PM
Hi,

I have an Amiga 500+ with Emu68 and WifiPI. I want to use Door64 and other terminals to BBS, but I have found an issue and I'm not an expert about networks.

The Wifipi gives Internet access to the Amiga and I can use Ibrowser, but when use any BBS terminal, it looks the terminal is expecting a modem and there is no one.

Someone explained that probably I will need to use Term, but this asks for AmiTCP and I have tried installing it but is a mess.

Anyone has already tried to call a BBS with the Wifipi?

Thanks.

You need to use a telnet device driver in your terminal program. Theres two available on Aminet, telser and telnetd

Change the device from serial.device or whatever to the telnet device you chose to use, and you can then use it to "dial" out over your internet connection

Usage is covered in the documentation of the telnet device drivers

Thank you @vince_6 , I was able to install telser, but this one worked without it too.
