Title: New update broke some things
Post by: xmies23 on October 20, 2024, 10:18:08 PM
After the latest update, at first Amibench wouldn't load - it got stuck on a grey WB screen

So I restored everything to the inbuilt defaults, replacing everything

Now, Amibench kind of loads, but icons on the desktop and on the dock are all garbled, and when I move the mouse cursor over an (garbled) icon, for example Work or what else is on the desktop, Amibench immediately crashes back to A600GS menu

Which is a real bummer.

No SD card backup ?

No SD card backup ?

No, didn't really think I'd have to have one. I thought the factory settings would suffice, but no.

The machine is kinda useless to me now :(

Is it possible to download some kind of image to somehow overwrite the whole SD card, which I guess is inside?

Sorry your havng trouble.

When you restored to inbuilt defaults did you choose to REPLACE the current install or MERGE with it?

Please try with REPLACE , then assuming tat works try going to the advanced updates panel  and reinstall the latest components.

Yes, as mentioned in my previous post, I chose "replace".

That's how we got to the situation at hand.

Hmm, that's odd.  It's not even in my Sent box.  I will resend it again.
