Title: No mod play : eagle player & Hippo
Post by: DavidT on September 29, 2024, 03:59:39 PM
hi,

I’m not able to play any mod file with Eagle player & Hippo.

When starting a mod with eagle player result in no sound. After Some time i get some sound. Soon after a crash. Attached screenshot.

When i want to play a mod file with hippo i get an error : troubleshooters with the player Group. Check that the file Hippoplayer.group is up-to-date.

Anyone know what i’m doing wrong here?

I had same problem with Hippo Player on my PiSTORM, so doubt its to do with GS.
I can't remember what I did, I'm pretty sure I had to download something to get it working.

Maybe, maybe not ... but it comes bundles with the GS so it should work out of the box, it makes no sense to bundle non working Software ...

... but since I tested many many sound programs, I really don´t think it's a program issue, I think it is a sound emulation issue in the A600GS AHI Setup and/or Amiberry !

Just found something weird :

AmigaAMP3 plays mp3 but the TIME is running way to fast so the song is finished after 10 seconds even if it´s four minutes long ...
EaglePlayer plays no MODs but can play mp3 correct (?) <- fascinating
SongPlayer can´t even play WAV or IFF files, running way too fast (like AmigaAMP does)

I can convert mp3 to 8svx/iff with mpega.library, so mpega.library isn´t the fault here ... maybe it´s really the timings since the clock is sometimes speed up in a weird way doing 5 seconds in one ?

I´m just guessing here but maybe some of the devs can use this info anyway ;)
