Title: Getting frustrated
Post by: Morbeous on August 25, 2024, 10:53:10 AM
Please help as I’m getting really frustrated now. The games that are preinstalled work fine and see my Amiga joystick. The problem I’m having is getting any ADF I import to work. I spent hours yesterday and only have got one game working and that is only by using the supplied joypad. It will not recognise my Amiga joystick. I am starting to regret buying this as I thought it would be easy to use. Please any help would be appreciated. Why are my adf files not working? I select all disks needed yet it will still ask me to insert disk 2 and then nothing loads. Spending hours and only getting one game working and that’s not even recognising the joystick is not an enjoyable experience. I know these adds work as I have used them with Amikit on my PC.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Which system are you referring to? Emulation usually involves configuration files either global or per title eg Amiga Forever where in editing the RP9 file with right button menu you can select the INPUT menu and choose Gamepad over None or Joystick. Interestingly in that case a PC Xbox controller will work with Gamepad set but not Joystick.

According to Google, An A500 mini can run external adf's if the firmware is updated to v1.1.1. To run the game, start the game with the supplied gamepad then press HOME + X to swap control to a joystick.

I was under the impression there are numerous Firmware update fixes now available. Have you tried these?

Okay. As it’s a Bank Holiday here in Blighty. You may need to wait for Amigakit to respond.

How are you importing, you have to highlight all disks you want. Then switch them in pause menu. Wait a few seconds, then press fire to continue.
Thats how it works.

Also, what machine are you selecting and what roms do you have imported?

I have imported all the Amiga Forever Roms.  The main issue is getting the Amiga Joystick recognized.  Maybe have a setting for each game where you can set the controller type and that way hopefully it will remember that the joystick is selected

So in controllers. Rapidly pressing joysitck button, makes no sound on either port?

Sometimes it will make a sound but even when it does the game does not always seem to recognise it.

Sometimes it will make a sound but even when it does the game does not always seem to recognise it.

When it makes a sound, waggled stick / pad left and right. Then make sure it is set as joy port and same for extra joystic / pad.
i.e. joyport 1 and joyport 2.

The fact that is making noise means its working.
