Title: Help Needed - Gotek/External Floppy drive

Hi All,

Need some advice, I have just got an Amiga 1200, and am just getting an external switchless gotek drive, so keeping my internal floppy, which will allow me to alter them between DFO and DF1 and back again.

My question is can I also add an addition external floppy drive as DF1 or DF2, have my internal floppy as DFO, and the external gotek as DF2 or DF1, and still use the switchless function to make the gotek DF) when I needed to?

Hope that make sense, basically 2 floppy drives one internal and one external with an external gotek, but when required make the gotek the boot drive DF0.

If your using it in standard mode, then it will work exactly like normal. DF0 (Int), DF1 (Gotek), DF2 Extra floppy, etc etc.

Sorry hit modify instead of quote.

If you have an attachment with a pass-through port. Like normal external drive.

Again thanks, awaiting for the gotek to arrive, so guessing thats not standard, I will after buy one, Im guessing its called an Amiga pass through port? (Sorry Im 30 years out of date on this stuff)

I would guess people are mounting them in external drive cases. i.e. removing original floppy and replacing with gotek.

Hi

Every external gotek I have seen doesn't have the "pass through" to allow you to daisy chain an other disc drive. So the max you would be able to have is the internal and one external (gotek).

If you can find the right external drive, you can have gotek set to df0: and place it in external drive case and it will work as DF1:. Then allow you to daisy chain.
