So I’ve seen that a new board came out in the same vein as the Terrible Fire 1230 called the Tsunami 1230. Since then it seems to have disappeared from sale / Nine for sale anymore.
Were these cards not any good? Or like any new card there are BETA testing still going on with the end consumer?

One word, "PS32-Lite".

I get that. But people still buy the TF1230 cards.
And as you’ve eluded to. Ps32-lite still in a progress phase.

No Emu68 is.

I stand corrected… 🤗

Edu Arana aka AranaNet was one of the priciple architects of the Tsunami 1230. I corresponded with him about the possibility of a 64MB 030 card for the A1200 as I wasn't keen on the 128MB cards. He let me know one was already in development. I later went with the ACA 1230, 1231, 1221lc and 1233n by icomp though. Ironically a few days ago I bought a Tsunami 1230 on ebay. Retropassion Uk have them listed too. I'll have to see what it's like when it arrives.

Please do let me know. I believe this comes with a add-on connection which is for planned additional upgrades.

The Tsunami 1230 arrived, and I gave it a spin on my OS 3.9 BB4 A1200. It ran perfectly with no startup-sequence, but regular boot gave a pink screen and that's it. I communicated with Edu Arana about the issue, and he stated that modules loaded in OS 3.9 startup-sequence with an existing install were not compatible in some cases with the Tsunami 1230. He recommended a new installation with the Tsunami 1230 in place. Ergonomically, the Tsunami 1230 has it's IC's facing upward when installed and is therefore the same dynamic as the motherboard. ACA cards, and others, are inverted when installed and this is a particular play on dynamics and response I believe. Read French kiss. :)
I've replaced my ACA 1230 card for now as I am not bothered to re-do my startup sequence or installation. The Tsunami 1230 future expansion port is a custom lateral PCI slot.

Thanks for the update. Be interesting to see what this PCI slot will be used for. Again another accelerator where the buyer is a BETA tester. Was the OS3 issue not mentioned by the seller? Or is this more for those with OS 3.2+?

I bought the Tsunami used on ebay so no, no mention of characteristics. The OS I have installed is OS 3.9 with the French Boing Bag 3+4 update. I think Edu Arana meant the particular Loadmodule statement in the startup-sequence causes ram assignment issues with the Tsunami and he thought if the OS were installed with the Tsunami already in place it would compensate. Ironically my now chosen accelerator, an ACA 1230 40mhz was sold to me because it wouldn't run on OS 3.2!!. There seems to be a mix and match approach to some of the recent fast ram processor boards and the varying OS's.

The ACA 1230/40 is a nice card, I used to have one. I have a spare ACA 1232/33 which I keep meaning to update to 50MHz when time permits! If I can pull that off it'll be one hell of a zippy 030 card. 128MB of RAM too is the icing on the cake.

The ACA1221 (original 32Bit 020) is a pretty decent card, when fully unlocked and clocked to 50MHz with 64MB fast ram. Just doesnt have the extra caches and mmu like the 030.
