Anyone have any idea? Was told that it can complicate the amiga circuit or pose risk due to having a different circuit board, is this true or only a problem when it's with the sega autofire adapter. I found one at a local thift store that was specifically designed as stated on the box that it works on the c64/atari it seems to be from the early 80s.

Not sure onthat one. I know that there was speculation that using a Sega Genesis Gamepad could in fact cause issues with the Amiga CIA chip… or to use one on a C64/C128 can cause damage. Maybe this could be something similar?
If you are saying early 80’s then the Amiga wasn’t a thing back then…
In my honest opinion, unless you are good with a soldering iron and a have a few spare Amiga CIA chips to hand, then I wouldn’t chance it.

The gameports on the Amiga (and C64, etc.) are Atari-compatible; that was why this standard was supported by Commodore in the first place.
