Title: Graphics card
Post by: swift240 on March 17, 2004, 10:36:00 PM
Hi Group,
I am about to buy a Mediator SX 1200 PCI Bus board.
at the momoent I am using OS3.9 with Magic Workbench 2.0 in 64 colours.
Using screen display DBLNTSC:High Res No Flicker 720 x 467.
With 1,585,920 of CHIP memory available to me.
Should I expect to see more CHIP memory given back to me when using a Graphics card on the Mediator?

TIA,

Mike....   :-)

When useing ANY graphicscard under CGX or P96 you should have about 1.9xx MB of Chip free after bootup, if you don`t have any strange tool running that specifically eats up Chip-RAM.
Of course when running OS3.9 you should set the storage for icons to "other mem" in workbenchprefs

O.k thank you for that.
Well I have the Icons set to other mem, as I use an Apollo Turbo Mk-II accelerator with 32meg Fastram.

So your info was valuable.
