Title: Bad Harddrive Sectors
Post by: on January 03, 2003, 04:22:52 PM
Is there anything on the Amiga which will mark off bad sectors on a HD so the OS will skip past it and not try to use it?

-The clean way:
If you have a scsi drive you can use the 3.1 HD Toolbox to mark off bad sectors (The 4.0 HD Toolbox also can do this.

-The dirty way:
Use Quarterback tools (I don't know if it will work with big harddrives)

Guess I should've given more info.  It's a 500MB IDE drive.  You mentioned the toolbox will work with SCSI, but not IDE?  Also, if you use it, will it erase what's on the drive like partitioning?
