Title: Harddrive Icon question (newbie question)
Post by: pneron on November 16, 2020, 09:45:36 PM
For some reason, the "icon" of one of my hard drives has changed to a floppy image....I know there is a way to fix this but not sure.

You need to get the icon you want representing the hard drive and save it in the hard drive's root directory as "Disk.info".

You also need to make sure the icon's type is set to Disk. You can do that with IconEdit, OS3.9's Info window, and several other tools.
If you're copying an existing Disk.info from another disk, however, the icon type will already be set correctly and you don't need to do anything else.

And with OS3.9 you should be able to set it back to the default look, also with the Info dialog(?).
Otherwise
Copy envarc:sys/def_disk.info TO destinationdrive:disk.info

The easiest way with os3.9 to change the icon is to select the icon you want to replace, press right mouse button and select "Information" from the icons menu.
You'll get the info window mentioned by earlier posters.

Now drag the icon you want to use for your harddisk into the icon in the info window and then press save.
