Title: Looking back on 35 years as an Amiga user
Post by: blakespot on October 28, 2020, 03:12:02 AM
Blog post, for anyone interested.

"Thirty five years ago I became an Amiga user. One of the first, actually. This is a meandering and reminiscent post of sorts, written to mark the Amiga’s 35th anniversary and the 35 years I have known and loved the system..."

Yep very nice, the vids too, but you know that the best Amiga is the 3000 :)

I would give up my A2000 for an A3000 -- but not for any other Amiga... :-)

We share a similar story.  In the summer of 1985 I replaced my aging C64 with a brand new C128....and then I saw the Amiga.  The local Computer Land was taking orders and my system arrived in late October.  I remember finding the 512k memory card in a store 100 miles away and happily drove to pick it up.  Supplies and software was in short supply....I remember spending a lot of time watching the EA demos.   Good times!  Happy 35th to you!  It’s been an awesome ride!

What a great post.  It's been a wild ride.  Sure wish I had more time for my Amiga's now, but I wouldn't give up the time I had for anything in the world.  For a lot of us, I think, the Amiga computer helped us to become the adults that we now are.  For better or worse, I suppose.   ;D  Cheers!
