Title: protection bits
Post by: lionstorm on March 15, 2004, 07:52:34 AM
Hi all,
I am having a rather annoying thing. I usually download from my amigaone/linux and transfer the files on my real A1200. lha/lzx/zip archives have rwed protection bits and inside the archives as well (some may have arwed).
When I extract them under magellan 5.82 using the xadmaster library, protection bits often change to rw-d so I have each time to change that to rwed.
Why is that ?

well my question does not hit much. Are you all using your classic amiga (or the dark side) ?

Well, the protection bits inside the archive should stay unchanged (that's how I transfer files between the Amiga & PC). As for Linux & Amiga, the only experience I had was with an amiga CD, that needed "su" to get access (amiga bits are all set to root).

It's really strange that the pb are changed :-? !
