Title: Amiga Test Kit v1.6 says my A1200MB rev 2B has timing issues
Post by: klx300r on March 17, 2020, 04:40:59 AM
system is stable though some times after many hours of use system hangs but after a full reboot works ok..wondering if its ram related or MB needs timing fixes...so far checked 2 ram cards and both gave same results below though one ram card had errors:

'CIAA TOD expect 16 ticks: 10149055: FAIL''CIAA TOD IRQ Failure'

Chances are that your A1200 motherboard has a faulty CIA chip... more specifically, the CIA-A chip, U7.

so how to confirm if system working ok other than as noted above...

It's not so easy to confirm other than doing more in-depth hardware analysis.

There are a few tools for this (they often rely on serial port connection for output though)

http://aminet.net/package/docs/hard/PortDiag

For testing memory...
http://aminet.net/package/util/moni/MemDiag

And the most useful is of course DiagROM which replaces the kickstart to get full control - http://www.diagrom.com
