Title: ANSI terminal prog that works over AmiTCP?
Post by: blakespot on November 29, 2019, 04:49:36 PM
I have an X-Surf Ethernet board I’ve my A2000 020 running 3.1 and use AmiTCP as the stack. Is there an ANSI supporting terminal program that works with this setup to allow telnet BBSing? I have Terminus, NComm, etc but am unsure if the TCP/Ip connection can be routed into these apps for connection, perhaps by device choice.

Thanks.

I have no clue, really, but maybe this works?

The one I have used since forever, on OS 3.x and 4.x alike, is this one:

Best regards,

Both options listed here will work. You can use telser.device modem emulation with your preferred terminal software. After much twiddling around, I have settled on TERM as many others have. I keep NComm and JRComm handy as close runner-ups.

You could also just go with DCTelnet which is a pure telnet program that will work over your TCP/IP connection. I use Roadshow myself since it is so fast and lightweight.

If you don’t mind MUI, AmTelnet is also an option, it supports zmodem transfers too.
