fresh install on hd,But canno get audio going .says cannot play requested audio mode.the only mode settings thay play a test sound are the EMU10kx of which there are 5,tried them all no good,but did not try to move the frequency around should that be at a certain setting thanks .
played cds fine before but did not think to check settings before reinstall .

For the Emu10k to work you need a sound card with the an Emu10k chip like a Soundblaster Live 0220 PCI card.

Do you have that in your x5000?

They wouldn't show up in AHI if he didn't have suitable card installed.

Does the test sound play anything in AHI prefs?

Hi thanks finally got it some one else emailed me .what it was in prefrances needed to point to 1 was pointing to 0.cds work ok internet radio says need the Mpega lib , got it from os 4depot still no go but have to check it again because it says to rename thanks.
