Hi guys,
I did switch my power supply this weekend (an old AT PSU) with a brand new picodrive 90W.
It works like magic; no noise, no heat; barely see it since I did wrap it inside the outside brick (sadly it takes a 12V rail to work; so I did get a 12V brick power supply, like the ones used by laptop, which has enough Ampere to support the 90W that the PSU deliver).
Now, the issue is related to the power up. If I power up the Amiga the first time, it works; the switch click and the Amiga power up. If I turn off the switch, and then turn it on again though; it won't turn on anymore. I need to turn on the switch on the amiga; then disconnect the connector from the wall plug, wait 10 seconds and reconnect it, while the switch is still on the ON position. If I do this with the switch off, and then turn it on, still the Amiga won't power up.
I have no clue why this happen; the only load on the Pico psu is the floppy drive and the Amiga main board (so -12V, +12V, -5 and +5V, connected to the square amiga power connector). I tried both with a momentary button to turn it on, and with a standard on/off switch; like the one that is on the original power brick for the 1200; and neither makes a difference. For some reasons seems that the Amiga circuit and the Pico PSU need to be totally without any power, and also all the caps has to discharge, before I can turn the Amiga on again. I never had this issue with the original PSU; it would just turn on without issues every time I would flick the switch.
Does anyone have experience with the Pico PSU on a 1200 board, and did this ever happen to you?
