I purchased a new monitor that has hdmi ports. So I purchased a hdmi to dvi cable. It doesn't work on my radeon card on the mediator. I know the dvi port works dvi to dvi on the card and I have tested the cable on the PC and it works fine.
I tried multiple resolutions and still no go. I even tried multiple hdmi to dvi cables.
Any ideas?

What Radeon card is it? It's Dvi-a or I? , Dvi-a gives a analog signal that can not be used as digital Hdmi but only adapted to VGA.

Have you made sure that the Radeon's resolution is usable by the new monitor? If it's at the default 640 x 480 or something similar, you won't get any display showing

So the "usb" part in the topic was just click-bait? :D

Really? The monitor won't upscale it or show it with black borders?

LOL Getting old as you all figured out HDMI to DVI.
I tried multiple resolutions with no luck.
I don't get it. Works great on the pc not on the Amiga. Maybe the DVI port went bad on the Radeon. It did work fine months before my old monitor died.
Anyone using HDMI to DVI on a radeon successfully?

I Have tried DVI-D and DVI-I cables. Not sure of the radeon, but it was one recommended by the mediator.

@ncafferkey
I have several, admittedly not new, monitors which just show a black screen if I load the OS4.0 or 4.1 cd, because it defaults to a lower resolution than the monitor can handle.
That's both VGA and DVI-D

The vga port works on the radeon with this monitor work fine just not the dvi.

@matt3k
Just ensure the resolution is set ok for the monitor's native resolution

Think AOC and Radeon 9200 have an issue when using hdmi to dvi.
Card works with vga to aoc monitor without issues. I can plug dvi to dvi into an old Dell monitor and the 9200 works well. I can plug a pc with a newer Radeon card with dvi to hdmi into the aoc and it works.
Tried various resolutions and no luck.
Time to take back monitor i guess.
