Title: Translation assistance
Post by: Oldsmobile_Mike on March 28, 2018, 07:01:19 PM
I wanted to donate some money to an Amiga developer a few days ago.  Like him or hate him, I've used Cosmos's libraries for years and wanted to throw him some beer money.  But Firefox choked on translating the PayPal page and I didn't feel like installing another browser to try again.  Can anyone look at this screenshot and tell me how much I almost sent him?

Yeah, that's what I thought.  It was supposed to be $25 USD.  No idea what's wrong with that donation function (or why these crazy Europeans have to use commas and spaces instead of a decimal to denote dollars and cents).  Glad I cancelled it!

I don't say I get this, but does it look like 25 bucks to me. I think 2000 €uros was his goal sum?

Ha Ha Ha.  You almost bought his business Mike! Then we could have complained to you about all of the bugs.  Ha Ha Ha!

It's a British colonial thing :)

(and there were dollars and cents in Europe long before the US existed too)

Wouldn't that have been something!  Although my offer still stands, $2000 to buy all the rights for 3.9 from Haage & Partner.  Probably more than they've made off it in the past decade.  :roflmao:

The problem is that H&P don't have all the rights for OS 3.9, they are more in the hands of the individual developers. Some of those also brought their work to Hyperion and OS4. I tried some time ago to reach the developer of AmiDock in attempt to fix an annoying limitation (horizontal dock too high for non-laced hires modes and icons), but of course got no replies.
