I remember having to add HD 1920 x 1080 resolution to my SAM460EX with OS4.1 FE in the past, and I guess I need to do the same with my X5000 since I can't get a resolution higher than 1280 x 720.
Can somebody help me with this mystery?

To get higher resolution you need the current Radeon drivers installed. Otherwise it maxes out with the stock Radeon lite driver that came installed on the X5K.
So, did you buy and install the newest Radeon driver? I think they may be included in the Enhancer CD that came with the purchase form Amiga On The Lake, if that is where you purchased it from.

Yes, I did it buy my X5K from Amiga On The Lake and I did get a copy of the Enhancer CD. I remember also buying the Radeon Drivers from AmigaKit but, I can't remember my login to AmiStore. My request asking for my login has gone unanswered for a while.

I had to add 1920x1200 (16:10) and took several tries to get it to work.
Preferences->Screen Mode->Monitors tab.
Detect settings automatically. Checked.
All supported modes. Chosen.
Reboot.
Come back. Uncheck Detect. Add the size. Save. Reboot. Check/select it. Test it. Save. Reboot. Come back. Re-check Detect. Save. Reboot.
It was very tedious. Then it just suddenly decided to work.

Awesome tip. It worked after the first reboot.:)

Glad it worked out for you.
I would get your Amistore login worked out. Resend the request for a reset or just email Amigakit / AEon.
