I've spent a shocking amount of time downloading what I could find on aminet to meet my purpose of throwing HAM IFFs into a dir on my WB1.3 A1000 and running a looping slideshow. I can't find something that will do this. Surely there exists some utility that can help me.
Any ideas? Standard laced HAM images here. Thanks.

Maybe you could use something like demo maniac. Think its in the tosec collection. Have you tried to to just search 'slideshow' on aminet. Or you could just write on yourself in Amos. I would guess it could be done in less than 5-10 lines of code.

I would have tried ppshow, though it may require os2.x.
How about the player that comes with DPaint?

Someone else mentioned Demo Maniac / TOSEC but I had a hard time deciphering what TOSEC and Demo Maniac actually are. Any on what appears to be the TOSEC site, there are a huge number of downloads that aren't detailed.
Can you point me to a download of this program? Sounds like a tool for making scenedemos but among its features is a simple slideshow?
Thanks.

Try this one: http://aminet.net/package/gfx/show/SlideMaster
Just tested it and works perfectly on kickstart 1.3/WB 1.3 with HAM pictures.
Example command line: slidemaster0.1 +10 -wipe file1.ham file2.ham !
Remove "!" at the end if you don't want the slideshow to loop and change "+10" for the duration of each image.

I hope the Original Poster does not mind me asking, is there software for A1000 that can convert to and from HAM mode?

I tried this and it does work for the slideshow -- thanks. But it has trouble showing the HAM images I am trying to view -- the palette is garbled. It shows other HAMS I have on-hand fine. Something must be a little off about these images, which were generated with ham_convert (http://mrsebe.bplaced.net/blog/wordpress/?page_id=374) (Java app), but everything else I've tried to load one of them as a single image can view it fine, including Photon Paint, etc. So maybe best bet is still this Demo Maniac thing? Oy.
Thanks.

DPshow gurus, sadly.

I finally got this done, using QuickFlix
http://aminet.net/package/gfx/show/QuickFlix
It's designed to do quick frame rate animations, but one can slow it to do typical slideshows. It loads all images to RAM before start, but my A1000 has 2MB FAST so it's fine. Amazing how hard it was to get this done. I'll post the video and blog post this is for soon.
Thanks folks.

And here's the end result of what I was working on. Thanks for the help, folks.

Ham Lab+ and Art Department Pro both run on my Minimig 1.1 so don't see why they would not run on a A1000 as long as you had a memory expansion.
