Title: GCC and RedHat Linux
Post by: Rassilon on March 09, 2004, 11:01:48 AM
Hi,

does anyone know which version of GCC ships with RedHat? The reason is very Amiga related and if it all works out could lead to a nice new web application (not browser!)

Cheers

Well... Which version of RedHat?  The versions aren't really etched in stone.

Shrike (RedHat 9/x86) had GCC 3.2.2.

Beyond that, I don't know/remember.  It can vary by build.

I was told by a developer of this 'interesting' product that it may compile quite easily on an Amiga with an appropriate build of GCC - I asked which - and he said whatever RH ships with.

I was thinking it might be 3.2.2, seems as though I will have to wait until I get my OS4SDK (hopefully around the end of this month!!!) to test.

For cross compile M68K programs Martin Blom has a version of gcc 2.95.3 available on this site site (http://www.lysator.liu.se/~lcs/files/gg-cross/)
