Title: Opalvision Background
Post by: madgrizzle on February 17, 2018, 08:11:31 PM
I have an opalvision card that I'm trying to get working in order to show a 24-bit background.  I was able to get it to do so, but it also shows the background image within the windows that I open.  Is this normal?  It's a bit distracting to try to type within editpad with a background image still showing.. Is there a way to set it so the background image only occurs in the background?

I thought it replaces color 0 (or was it color 1) with its background? Try changing the background color of your windows or Shell - any difference?

Yes, i found that if i set a background color to the window (blue for instance), it won't get painted over.. but things like the inactive window menu bars and application backgrounds still get painted over.. I need to figure out where those are set.

I'm using os3.9.. any idea where to change it?  I fixed the drawer background by changing Window in wbpattern

I would try using some tools like Full Palette and VisualPrefs (both available on Aminet) to give you more control over your Workbench appearance settings.

While you're at it, the Rebel palette and Peter K. icon.library are pretty good, if you don't already have those installed. :)

On OCS it's always colour 0, on ECS/AGA it's configurable.
