Title: ZIF sockets

They're probably good if you're sticking to stock 68000/68010 processors. With newer accelerator boards you'll likely have a hard time getting at the lever to lock down or unlock the processor socket as there will be a PCB that will likely get in the way.

Does not that depend on what way you orient the socket?

Sure, but you may want to consider future cards that may come along and the willingness to desolder the socket to correct for it. Also it's possible a card may not have the clearance on either side, but I see this as less likely a situations.
