havent logged in for ages ..but every so often i still hop on to read the posts ..read about the plibox and since i had tried almost everything else to put my 1200 online i decided to give myself a christmas present and ordered it from the other side of the world...well its plugged in ..and ill admit i havent had a lot of time to play with it but my machine found it ..it appears to be working and miami says im online but i must have the settings wrong as any web browser i try just doesnt go online ..and ping gets nothing...where can i get the settings i need ..i did a ip address search on the pc to see what it settings were and used them ..but im unsure if im doing it right ...i think my 1200 is close to going online ..i just think ive got my miami settings wrong ..and not sure where to go from here ..

I think you're close! If you can ping 127.0.0.1 then Miami probably needs a proper IP address that is unused on your network, a netmask, a default gateway, and a DNS server address.
If you have another computer on the same network segment, try getting the details from there.
Miami does not support DHCP as far as I can tell so it can't get a network address automatically like most modern computers. So you have to static-route it and set a reservation in the local router so nothing else grabs the Amiga's address.
The alternative is to buy Roadshow as a TCP stack. It's still being developed commercially and has DHCP support so you can let your router do the configuration for you!

well after much mucking around i went bit by bit ...getting the ip address subnet mask etc all except the dns which miami says im wrong each time...miami says online..but bring up aweb get a cannot resolve host name...im close ..any ideas from anyone?

basically have a pc also on a router that connects to another hub to the internet...i did a whats my type question for the ip etc ...i looked up all the settings with ipconfig etc...the amiga so far hasnt shown up on the hub which is weird as if i put my mobile on wifi it just appears ..
my exact error ..while retrieving url ..cannot resolve host name..

If you are actually using a HUB.
GET RID OF IT, fast....
Replace it with a switch. ASAP
Hubs are notorious to crash networks.
