Title: Hardware ideas for Amiga emulation
Post by: blanning on December 18, 2017, 05:11:46 PM
Hi everyone.  I'm thinking about putting together an inexpensive computer that I plan to use for two mainly two things.  One is for retro console game emulation like Mame.  The other is for Amiga emulation.  Here's what I already have that I may or may not use:

X-Arcade gaming stick
PCI Catweasel board and 3.5" floppy drive
LCD monitor

I could use a Raspberry Pi.  Or I could maybe use a Mini or Pico-ITX type solution so I could use windows.  I'm mainly looking for a cool case, something small with a retro feel that I could easily throw in a suitcase and take back to south america with me, with maybe an SD card or small SSD as a hard drive.

I'd love to get one of these Ami-ITX boards.  But I think they'll be cost-prohibitive.  And I need to get it within the next month.  And real Amiga hardware will be too expensive, big, and heavy to take back with me.

Does anyone already have a nice setup like this?  Or any ideas?

Edit:  I attached a picture of an old computer case I found on the internet somewhere.  This would be just about perfect with a mini itx motherboard.  (If a mini-itx motherboard with a PCI slot exists)
