I have a vague recollection of reading that not all of the CD32 controller functions work on an A2000. Is that true? Can anyone add anything on this?
I've had one plugged in to my A2000 for quite a while and thought there were no issues. I recently tested another controller and now the machine can only detect it as a basic 2-button joypad, according to the various joyport test programs on Aminet. I'm getting the same results with my original controller as well. Is this normal, or did I manage to break something? I could swear that I had all the buttons working previously but now I'm not sure if I'm remembering correctly.
I'm afraid to try the controller on another machine in case it somehow damaged something... Is that even possible?
Thanks for any insight.

I think if the game supports the gamepad, then all buttons should work.
Try to load a game that supports it and see if it works.

Tried that. Only red and blue buttons are responding...

Do you have CD32 to test the controller with?

May need to test it with an actual CD32 game (perhaps under WHDLoad, if you can find one that doesn't require AGA). AFAIR even a lot of CD32-specific titles didn't use all the buttons.

The reason I tested it in the A2000 was because it wasn't working in the CD32. Not sure if I have a CD32 problem, a controller problem, or an A2000 problem - or all of the above!
Have tested with multiple games (including CD32 games under WHDLoad) on the 2000 that definitely support all buttons - no luck.
