Title: Indivision 1200 AGA MK2cr issue
Post by: punkyclown on September 07, 2017, 11:12:40 PM
Hi All,  I am having trouble getting my Indivision 1200 AGA MK2cr to work with a Dvi adapter
to VGA.  Should this be able to work because my monitor is saying "No Signal". Responds
with regular amiga output. Is there a jumper somewhere I need to switch?
Any help is much appreciated.

Have you verified that it is the DVI-to-VGA adapter which is the problem?  If you connect using a regular DVI monitor & cable does it display correctly?

It will drive a VGA monitor with the appropriate adapter.  I have done this, myself (in particular at VCF-SE.)  It could be a bum adapter or a bad VGA cable.

Thanks for the response. VGA cable and adapter are rock solid. Using it with Mac mini
no issues. Don't have DVi to Dvi cable, why I'm trying to use the VGA...  How do I tell
DVi-I from Dvi-D?
Thanks

How do I tell DVi-I from Dvi-D?

Via the magic of Wikipedia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface

Scroll about halfway down, there's a diagram and everything.

IMHO if it were me I would just use a monitor with a DVI input (rather than trying to kludge together a bunch of adapters), but YMMV.

Probably stating the obvious but, make sure the adapter is seated all the way over the Lisa chip. It could of popped loose or not on all the way.

Isnt an option in the prefs for the indivision set to enable VHA or disable it as well? I seem to remember so when I got mine. Check and make sure its actually enabled.
