*Also listed for sale other places
Vampire V500 to A2000 CPU slot adapters. These are being built on demand and I will ship them as I complete them. Photos included showing how they fit in 2000 with a vampire attached.
-
I would like one please. Ready to send payment.
Thank you,
Jeff
-
Oh yeh, I hope they work on the V4.
-
I'll order mine through email. Quick question, though: I was of the understanding that branched traces like shown in the first pic are a bad idea?
-
It's a fat trace, probably ground. Grounds are OK. Signal is a different story.
-
What is the main advantage to using the adapter as opposed to going straight in to the CPU socket on the 2000?
-
Adapter is way easier to use when you need to remove the vampire from the 2000 and its not as hard on the pins. Also puttin it directly on the 68k socket makes them bend and I have had to repair 4 vampires and replaced at least 12 A2000 68k sockets in the last few months because of it. Thats why I use it.
I only have 26 I can make, these are the same ones kipper made. I just got his boards is all since he left the vampire team to finish for him.
I am starting a list to make sure I dont over sell them. Please be patient with me as they are being sold on other sites too.
-
Count me in. I finally have some money flow.
-
Sounds good count me in too.
-
Put me down for one, thanks.
-
Sending out PM with PayPal info soon. I'm charging before I build yours this time and sending them as I finish and test. Last project I got stuck with a ton of unsold stock. I have parts and boards on hand. It won't be a long wait.
-
Ack, I'll take one, too. My email's not working from where I am (public wireless blocking ports 587 and 993... nice.)
-
Putting a hold on payments so I can build this first group. If you know me than you know I dont like to take payments in advance and I'd feel better catching up on the first 10.
I will post again when I am ready to take more orders. It wont be long. If I messaged you for payment I have you down and you can proceed. If I havent please give me some time to catch up after next weekend.
-
Definitely interested!
-
I would like to purchase one, please.

I will post back at the end of next weekend when I can take more payments. I have 12 to make and need to make sure all parts are in and good before I commit to anymore this week.
I have another set of parts on the way to make more, I just dont want to take on more orders at once that I dont know I can fulfill in a week.
-
I'll buy one if/when available.
-
I can use one of these as well if still available. Bit of space problems having vampire + chipex adaptor together.
-
Ill take one as well when available
-
I'd like one as well. PM sent.
-
I'm also interested in one. :-)
-
I have 15 to build, when I finish them I will let you all know as mentioned.
-
Was there an adapter for CDTV as well?

I dont think so, but I am waiting to hear back from Kipper still. I have asked him if I can work on some of his past project people are asking for and he doesn't have time to work on currently.
-
I too would like one please...
-
Count me in.
Ready to send payment...
-
Parts came in to complete all the boards I have. Once I ship the paid 15 I'll post the total I have extra.

Great, thanks. I can pay for one now if that will guarantee me one.
Will you have more in the future or is this it?

Would be awesome if you could get hold of the schematics as well as whatever existing stock he has remaining. Maybe start up production once a year, or limited production runs / kickstarter-type things for his various boards. Give him a little cut of the profits, am sure it could be made to work out well financially for both of you. Good luck! :)

I've asked him, it looks like I will have enough to offer up maybe 5 or 6 more. I am going to remake the boards myself if he doesnt answer me back and update the design some, so I will have more again sooner than later.
-
I've sent PM's to the last 7 people that asked before posting I was holding off. These are the last ones I have before another order of boards can be produced. I am working on that now.
If I messaged you for payment and you cant pay now or dont want it please reply back ASAP so I can get in touch with the next one after that wanted one and didnt make this run.

I have new boards on the way! I was able to remake them in Sprint Layout and have the ability to produce them myself. After building one and testing it, if they work (first time I designed a PCB from scratch) I will have 50 more to build this time instead of 20.
I am 99% sure they will be just as good as the originals and work fine.
-
Nice to see that someone has stepped up to fill the void.
-
I still have two left if LoadWB doesn't want the one he asked for as well as another I just assembled. I'll wait another day before offering them.
-
Sold out for now. I'll have more to build in a few weeks I'm hoping.
-
Go ahead and add me to the list. I would like one. Thanks
-
The new look when they arrive will be nice!
-
I received mine in the mail today and it looks great! Thank you :D
-
Received mine too. Looks like about a 50% chance it will work on a V4.
Edit:
No just checked against a scale image of V4, The card needs to be a bit longer. Bummer!
-
They are in!!!! First one built and test! I am now taking PREORDERS while I build this batch. List here, Amiga org and Amibay. Only 45 this batch. Please understand this will take time to build and mail with my work schedule.
$36 SHIPPED for US address
$41 SHIPPED International address.
Paypal Friends and Family, or add fee if you are not comfortable with that.
PLEASE PM ME AND REQUEST TO BE ADDED TO LIST! I WILL REPLY BACK WITH THE PAYPAL ADDRESS.
-
I reconfirm my earlier interest.
Please reserve two for me. (2x interntional)
Thank you!
(edit: PM sent)

Also as a nice bonus, these work well with other 68000 socket devices other than the Vampires. RAM boards found on ebay work as do the TF530.
-
I'll look into a redesign for v4 when I have a physical card in hand.
-
Due to a very nice member that asked to be unnamed that donated to me in thanks for vampire adapters I've decided to eat the extra cost to ship them over seas. They are now $35 shipped worldwide
-
Better get your adapters ready. Apparently a large 4th batch/complete catch-up on V500 orders is imminent... http://majsta.com
-
Heh, I'm making them as I get orders. Won't be an issue!
-
Discovered these can be used by a lot more than Vampires for the CPU slot. Also tested with a TF530 and a IDE68000 home made accelerator.
Also just for fun an A1000 Spirit Insider RAM board.
-
New parts are back in stock and are ready for sale! The new boards are now gold plated and look fantastic! Price is still $35 shipped worldwide.
-
Do I have to remove the CPU from the 68K motherboard socket if I stick a processor or 68k socket based accelerator?
Can the say a Vampire be fitted onto your board along with the 68k in the motherboard socket?
-
On the A2000, you must remove the CPU if you put a Vampire card in the CPU slot.

You must remove it. The Vampire takes over the system and this adapter is just a mirror of the 68000 socket. Its main use is for easy of access to the vampire and not having to pull the machine all the way apart to change things.
-
Couldn't the card just disable the onboard cpu by setting one pin high?

MAybe, but I wanted to get these out at a fair price and reduce the cost as much as I could. Shiipping alone is $13 for me to send them to europe. I pay about $5 a board to have them made in the USA, the parts for them are another $2-3 and I have to buy packing material and take them to the post office. At $35 shipped each that doesnt leave any room for much else. I am basically doing all the labor free too.
The point was to get them out to the people that wanted to use them for the vampire in an A2000 and do it in a way that the most people needing them could afford it. I am not interesting in making massive money, its not why I do this sort of stuff for those that have followed my work. The fact they are also useful for other boards is a bonus.
