Then stick to a hobby that doesn't involve dealing in items that were rare and handmade 25 years ago and are now generally found working ONLY in the hands of people that love them?
Sorry, I didn't invent the Amiga scene. I just accept facts.

If you can't find one, ask again next year around this time. I've got a GoldenGate 486DX 25 MHz with the maths co-processor, FDC chip, & 16 MB RAM in storage, I believe. It's been about 3 1/2 years in storage. I won't get my stuff out of my storage locker until around the middle of this coming year when I move. I've got the GoldenGate 486DX 50MHz with the maths co-processor & FDC chip w/ 16 MB RAM installed on the card with the Monitor Master on my A4000.

@DWV Sorry I agree with Pat the Cat, this great example of microeconomics and demonstrates supply and demand at it best. ie low supply and high demand = high prices.
Try buying a real 386sx PeeCee that no one wants ie high supply and low demand = landfill.
I agree with sellers that want high prices for their bridgeboards. The bridgeboard solution I have took a long time to find the parts (ISA cards) and time get fully working (PeeCee's are a pain to configure)
It would take a lot of money for me to part with this setup. I understand why sellers want money :)

486DX. I thought these were SLCs? I wish that a 486DX bridgeboard was made.
the SLC were basically 386sx with a 486 instruction set and no FPU (you needed a 387sx). They were crippled by a 16 bit bus, like a 386sx as well.
Even still. I always wanted the goldengate with 486slc2 50mhz.

I have one and I really like it. It was a pain to setup initially though, had to use the top slot in the A4000 ETC. I also have an A2386 with the clip on Cyrix 486SLC2 upgrade. Fun stuff :D

ahh someone who has both the goldengate and and upgraded A2386. Which do you like better? How do to they compare performance, etc.
I have a A2386 with a 486BL3/75 (ibm blue lighting).

I don't have a problem with prices, it's the people who will not give you a price that piss me off, they are just trying to see how desperate you are.
As for "why would anyone want one"
I do a lot of work with old synthesizers and equipment that requires an old computer running MSDos 6.22, I have an old first generation Pentium c/w a 360k 5.25 floppy drive! that I currently use, but my problem is real estate, I just don't have the room to keep everything set up all the time, so at the moment I just set up the dos machine when I need it, then put it back in storage when I am done, and since I have the Amiga set up all the time, a bridgeboard would help free up some valuable space.
So... to sum it up, a bridgeboard would be nice, but it's not life or death.
As you can see from my join date and post count, I don't post here very much, I find there are to many snobs and trolls here for my liking, just look at how this thread got hijacked (again)
