An Amiga 2000 popped up on my local craigslist and the seller asked me to make an offer. I don't know how to estimate what its worth but want to give them a fair price but not something crazy, any ideas what a 2000 is worth, He says it has a hdd and memory expansion and works but the keyboard and mouse are gone.

It depends on what revision motherboard, kickstart, custom chips, chip ram, hard drive, how much memory, what memory expansion and hard disk interface it was etc. I would start with $200. Might be too high, might be too low.

ohh wow, I know retro stuff is big now but $200 is too much for me. I guess I'll offer him something and see if he takes it.

I bought mine, box stock, from a local seller for $35 a few years ago.
But that was a ridiculously low price.
$200 sounds about right for a base system.

Maybe you'll get lucky and find a WildFire accelerator in it. ;)

if you really want it, offer $100.

I was going to say offer $60 to $70 and see what he says.

If seller looks on eBay they'll ask for a lot more. But then some people don't want to deal with the hassle of selling online, shipping, etc. Craigslist is still good for local sales, I also sell a lot of surplus electronics equipment on Facebook Marketplace.
TL;DR. Its "real worth" is still going to be what's in it, and how much a collector is willing to pay. Hope it doesn't go to a hoarder! ;)

Start with $50. A lot of times they just want to get rid of it.

The Amiga computer is worth a lot to collectors and other Amiga users, but not worth much to others unless they want to make some money. I picked up an Amiga 3000 complete with software for 100 on Craisglist and a 500 plus 3 boxes of boxed games for 50 bucks also. Most times they list locally because they want to get rid of it. Start low then negotiate up. I would start at $50 then go up from there but always have a max you will pay.
