Title: A couple of nagging issues in 3.9
Post by: punkyclown on July 09, 2017, 01:58:24 PM
Hi all, It's amazing how long I've been using Amigas (1988) and how little I know.
I have two issues that I think should be easy fixes but I don't know. On my 3.9 desktop
I am running Blanker from the Startup folder.  When I start my computer the blanker window opens and I always have to go to the menu to hide it. I know it should be easy to set it to automatically hide, but I have no clue. The second is a little harder, seems impossible to me.
I am running a registered copy of iBrowse, can some tell me is there way to resize the browser window. I would like it t open full screen.
Thanks in advance,
Brad Hansen

For Blanker, change the tooltype CX_POPUP to NO and the window will not appear until you double click the icon again.

For IBrowse, there should be a normal window resize gadget. In MUI prefs, there's an option to enable an additional window gadget with a pop up menu that allows you to snapshot the window size/position.

I'm assuming you can resize the window, but IBrowse doesn't remember the size when you restart it?

This is a MUI configuration setting. You can change it globally (i.e. for all MUI programs) by starting MUI prefs from Workbench or locally (only for current application) by running MUI prefs from the IBrowse menu.

There's a "Window" section in the MUI prefs. Here you can tell MUI to "remember" (during current session) or "save" (for all eternity) a window's position when closing it. Alternatively, you can add an additional gadget to the application's window titlebar: The one with the two triangles pointing inward will save the current window position as the new default for this particular window.

IMHO I would replace "Blanker" with one of the multi-function commodities like MCX or Multi_CX.

For IBrowse you'll need to adjust that through MUI settings.  Once done you shouldn't need to do it again.  As said above, you can change it for just IBrowse, or for all MUI applications.  You can also turn on all the "optional extra" MUI gadgets in the top-right corner of each window to access additional settings.
