Title: BlizzardPPC from Phase 5 or DCE¿?
Post by: FrankBrana on March 05, 2004, 03:26:45 PM
Hi PPl

I do have actually a Phase5 PPC@266 040@33 SCSI, working very well and realiable.

I have been offered a cheap (aproximately for the money I can sold my current PPC) DCE produced board PPC@240 060@50.The guy who sells it claims taht is working very well

I am a serious user. Having mediator, scsi units, etc etc, but Im a demo lover, so 060 attracs me very much, but the board produced by DCE is keeping me off.

What do you think? Keep the PPC 040@33 Phase 5 board or get the PPC 060@50 DCE board?

Best Regards and thanks for your help

I have the Phase5 PPC/060 accel. in my 4000T and it works great!  Just need to replace the fan over the PPC chip (I have another fan blowing from the side for now).  Be forewarned: DCE has trouble repairing boards in a timely matter.  In addition they are not replying to many emails.  I strongly suggest you buy the PPC/060 card somwehere else.  If you have another Amiga with a fastcpu slot, keep the 040 version.
