I have a 1000 setup with the ACA 500 plus.
What Workbench setup would be good for this. I like the 1.3 look but also want whdload as I do not want to use floppies.
Not doing a whole lot here, but turn it on for the more retro look as I have a 1084 monitor on it also. My other Amiga is a vampired 500 setup.

That's kind of an "opinion" question. Personally if I had a stock 1000 I'd run 1.3. Or with suitable upgrades, 3.1, maybe with BetterWB also. Definitely not "ClassicWB", but that's just IMHO. Have fun! :)

I thought the ACA 500 Plus would not work with the A1000. At least that's what the instructions state. Now I want to try it.

Jens won't support it but I and many others find it usable.
Usually doesn't work on power up but on subsequent power up works fine. On soft reboots it seems fine also.
Just so you know, those are the limitations.

If you have the ACA500+, just use the built-in KS 3.1, and use the built-in WB 3.1 disk images to install a virgin WB 3.1 on a CF card. Easy, cheesy, lemon squeezy. I do this on my 1000 and it works great with WHDLoad.

Yeah, so did I until I updated the firmware. Make sure you have the latest: http://wiki.icomp.de/wiki/ACA500plus_Firmware

if this still happens after you get the latest update from Individual Computers then you better get a hold of Jens cause it should work fine straight out of the box!

Thanks for the replies. Got the firmware update and installed wb 3.1 in main cf
Problem now, even after enabling the auxiliary cf slot, I get no access to it. Shows as Ndos icon on desktop.
Is this because the card is a boot cf from another amiga?
Ok, edit here. Put another cf card in and files show up.

keep the CF card in the AUX slot formatter as FAT so you can put it in your PC/Mac and copy files back and forth.

Fast File System versions needs to be same. You can't use KS3.1 formated CF card with KS1.3 rom system. Or actually you can, but it requires use of better partition setup utility and Fast File System from 3.1 floppy and copy it to partition setup utility L drawer.
