These things are getting damn near as pricy as accelerators. Some enterprising hw developer should recreate Angus in FPGA and make new ones of this board.

With Vampire moving along you would think these would be in demand. Amigakit are you watching? they could do it in a pinch!

I dunno. With RTG configured and FBlit, I hardly use ANY Chip RAM (under 250k,) so the base 1MB or even 512k in most machines I would think should be fine.

That's what Apollo team says. A few issues having arisen with only 1 meg.
There is going to be lots of chip ram in fpga in new releases but this mega chip is still very useful for most.
-
Chipmem is still useful for copy/paste.

There's a thread on AmiBay where someone is making brand new ones with a much different design. Apparently much better as well. He has gotten to the stage of ordering boards for testing and prototyping. The last one is functionaly done. Makes chip 2MB and it works. He's not quite at the stage of being ready to sell.

Yeah, they are pretty high priced.
But the really frightening part is that I paid MORE for this than I'm selling it for.
Right now I'm going to concentrate on NG.

It's not an FPGA or anything else like that but replicating the function of the Megachip in a new board using original Agnus chips.
