Title: Roadshow "Ping" Update released
Post by: AndreasM on May 14, 2017, 01:56:50 PM
Updated Roadshow version 1.13 contains repaired "ping" command

Roadshow version 1.13 was released on May 2nd, 2017. The updated "ping" command to ship in this release was found to contain a serious bug which could cause it to crash.

The demonstration and retail versions of Roadshow 1.13 have been updated and now contain the repaired "ping" command.

The separate Roadshow 1.13 update archive has been reworked to upgrade the old "ping" version which shipped with Roadshow 1.12 to the repaired version. This update archive can also be used to upgrade the "ping" command which shipped with Roadshow 1.13 on May 2nd, 2017 to the repaired version.

This may be a silly question but how does one know if the 1.13 is installed? I am asking because I am remember downloading and applying the update ealier this year but I am experiencing crashes when trying to use ping. ping is at v 4.11. Is that consistent with this patch?

I am trying to test a local ntp server but my ping keeps causing a reset.  :(

Just re-run the update installer, it figures out what needs to be updated.

I have requested too that Roadshow version number should be included in the extended version info of the binaries, and if I recall correctly, Olaf thought it sounded like a good idea, so maybe in 1.14 :)

Oh, and no, 4.11 is the crashy one, you want 4.13.

Try ping from the Roadshow demo archive.
