Hi
Switches on Amiga 1000 and fires up and the monitor waits for kickstart disk. Run the kickstart and get the flicker of the screen and then requests Workbench. I insert Workbench and starts to load then I get a Guru and the machine ask me to cancel the operation. I tried other disks and gets to same spot and says software error. I have tried the 1.1 disk with the 1.2 and the 1.3 all the same. Mouse is working and keyboard caps light comes on when I press it. The external disk drive is working and the monitor isn't giving out any strange colours.
The process just halts half way through the loading of Workbench and says software error on a guru with the red pop up that wants me to cancel. It then checks the problem and gives a software failure. Could be memory I guess.
All help appreciated.

What kickstart disk are you using? Version? You need to use at least 1.3 and not a 1.1 and try to run something later or it will do just what you are describing.
Can you post a photo of the screen after you load the kickstart asking for Workbench?

Gosh.. I wish all my problems were that easy to resolve. I dug out my 1.3 Kickstart disk and plugged it in and like magic it ran the Workbench from there with no issue. I was using a 1.1 disk as you thought. Anyway, your a lifesaver, well done. All working fine.
Many thanks.

Fantastic! I remember this well when the A1000 was still new and I had it. When 1.3 came out I didnt quite understand what my issues were as newer titles came out and my system kept crashing too.
