Yes very nice.  It looks like it fixes some of the dirty power issues by using a low power mode in the FPGA.   I hope this fix works, I have had issue in the past requiring me to update power supplies.

Maybe I'm just lucky but, I've never had any problem with my Indie ECS's in either my A2K or my A500 so, for now, i'm sticking with V1.10 :) I know this because it took me over 30 mins to fire up my A590 to check the rev with the Indie flash tool!

PS.. for the heck of it, I fired up my Mech HD installed game of Altered Destiny viewed on my Gateway KX2153 widescreen LCD* ... :) (that's right... I said widescreen) love the intro! Trudy Foxlitner is HOT! :)

My system is pretty stable but...
I haven't been able to get my BigRAM 2630 working despite a very conventional hardware setup. I thought it might be due to power issues. Was thinking of getting it recapped, but I heard from others that didn't help. Could... could the Indivision be the culprit? I never even considered it as a factor. Will have to give this firmware a try and see if it does anything...

Jens doesn't exactly publish this info on forums himself, it's like hide and seek for updates sometimes.  ;)

Edit: and it sure would be nice if vendors would ship systems with the latest firmware already flashed.  I understand, there's never enough time, but it's what I would do if I was selling stuff like this.  :(

I agree with Oldsmobile_Mike, I was unaware of the update.

Can be a packaging issue. Very often the gizmo will come sealed in an anti-static bag, and the vendor then has the choice of doing the update and resealing the product, or leaving it to the end user.

You can see why they prefer leaving it to the end user. It's not "customer friendly" but it does save the risk of the vendor screwing up the unit prior to sale. Which is good business sense.

The update JUST got posted to the support WIKI page; it was never there until about 10 days ago, so no, not 5 year old news...  The 1.15 has not been publicly available for download before.

Worth doing? I think my A3k likes the 1.1 version.. seems like it. dont fix what isn't broken?

edit: and do we lose the SuperPlus 16 color mode? wasn't that a beta core and hacked in?

I tried it last night The superplus 16 color mode driver worked fine with the new 1.15 core.  If memory serves one needed to upgrade to the 1.10 core to get it to work.

At the top of this thread (and every other)  there's a 'Rate this thread' option. You can give it 5 stars from there. ;)

Why IndivsionAGA gets no love is a mystery to me. If A1200 reloaded comes out I hope there will be regular support / firmware updates - otherwise its a no-go for me.

Indivision AGA mk2 of the Amiga Reloaded will have Picasso96 support and some RTG capabilities, so big things for regular AGA version might happen soon as well.

Try HD720:

http://aminet.net/package/driver/moni/HighGFX40_6

Although AFAIR your issue was more that the only widescreen LCD's you had available weren't compatible?

Just flashed it on my A500, no issues so far with any tested screenmode (including SuperPlus), although I did notice that the initial power-on screen still says 1.10 - although the firmware flash tool confirms it's on 1.15.  Anyone else report this same issue?

Side note:  I haven't tried SuperPlus since switching from a 37" to a 50" display.  Daaang, it still looks nice.  ;)

Yep, exactly the same here with my A500

BTW, How does one activate this superplus mode you are talking about? What's needed?

Thanks!

And just flashed mine and can confirm also the flash util shows 1.15 and the flash
screens show 1.10 ....

If you have 3.9 + all the BB's (http://amigan.1emu.net/releases/BoingBags3&4.readme) installed you already have it.  Likewise if you have 3.1 + BetterWB (http://lilliput.amiga-projects.net/BetterWB.htm) installed you already have it.  (May just need to drag it out of the monitors storage folder.)

Otherwise, the previous link works, too.  ;)

More info here:

http://www.mfilos.com/2012/01/a600-trying-800x600-resolution-setting.html

As mfilos describes about it in his article (about it completely filling the screen), it also completely fills my 50" TV with no overscan required.  I don't use it on that system very often because it is a bit slower than NTSC + overscan, but depending on your processor it may be fast enough for ya.  :)

There was an Xtreme driver (I think Ratte wrote it) for Indivision AGA MK2.  I cannot remember where I got it, but it I think I can do 1280x1024 256 color, but beware the Lisa gets HOT, I would only use this if you have a fan, further the screen updates are a bit slow.  I don't use the xtreme driver on my A4000 as I have a voodoo 3 on it.

The software is amazingly different on the AGA and ECS versions.  The AGA verison is almost too configurable.

Thanks guys! I extracted the monitor files from BetterWB and was able to test it, but I think it is pretty slow for my machine... also I am having issues with the indivision config not being recognized at first boot... I need to keep the machine turned on for 2 or 3 minutes then turn it off and on again... and then the config is properly recognized. I guess I'll have to solve that before...

Thanks again!

I wonder start with reseating everything, cleaning the contacts, and double-checking the ground cable. This could also be a sign of a failing power supply. Good luck! :)

To answer my own question, no, the new firmware did not magically make the BigRAM work. Sigh.

So you're 100% certain that the update has caused this?

This would be absolutely great! The AGA and AGA mk2 both need a bit of love.
