I have an Amiga Tech. A1200 which came with Panasonic JU-257A515p model. The drive after some years stop working and I bought a Panasonic JU-257A605P if I remember right. But the floppy has issues. When I boot with workbench disk the mechanism which reads stops after the boot.It reads only the boot disk not any disk after the first one. When I boot from the Hard Disk it slows a bit and when I come to the Workbench environment the light of the drive is on and the mouse cursor is transform to clock.I have also a Hard Drive and a Blizzard accelerator.Must search for another floppy drive or what?

May not be of much help but if there is one of these adapters on there try it without or vice versus.

SWOS boots from the disk only unless you have the hard drive installer which allows you to boot from the hard. The disk will just fail to be recognised by the Workbench screen, probably says the disk is uninitialised or df0??? or something like that.
I am somewhat confused by your post. You say you have a hard drive, which I assume opens in the operating system or Workbench. What happens if you put in a disk other than a games disk. Have you got a disk that you can format. If you are getting the clock with any disk that you put in then that is a problem with the drive . If however it is just when you put in games disks then that is probably the disk.
Need more information really. What disk are you trying to read. Is the disk a self booting game disk like Sensible World of Soccer.
Have you tried hooking up an external disk drive and running the disk or disks you are having issues with ?

Could be a virus on your disks or hard disk. It's worth checking I think.
That other drive you have tried...was it working correctly on the other Amiga?

might be time to upgrade to a Gotek. :P

When boot from Workbench disk and switch to another disk the drive stays idle and don't read the second disc.I tried to reinstall the Workbench but I can because drive reads only the first disk. Its strange.Maybe the floppy drive is incompatible with my A1200.

This is a google translated page that has information on making this drive work on an Amiga.
I would like to get permission to mirror it on this site. Any help toward this would be appreciated.

Disk presence sensor could be stuck or need cleaning. Any drive that behaves weirdly just apply some WD-40 to the switches and press them a number of times to clean them and it usually fixes the problem. Also, have you tried a different PSU yet?
