Title: A3000 LED lights/board
Post by: dschallock on April 26, 2017, 09:07:17 PM
Looking for that little PCB with the green and yellow lights on them for the Amiga 3000.  Anyone have one they are willing to part with?
Thanks!
Dan

These things are in pretty high demand and would be so simple to manufacture... AmigaKit?

I can loan one to someone if they can reproduce the PCB. I could use a couple too. I would want it back within a reasonable amount of time. It should be pretty easy to make with PCB software.

Can someone post a good close-up picture, first? Both sides? I may be able to help.

The circuit itself is very simple, as I recall: 3 leads, one to the power LED, one to the HDD LED, and a common ground. The "difficult" part is getting the right dimensions and the right LED parts that fit through the holes in the front of the case.

Thanks for that. Those LEDs are definitely an issue, and then there's the lack of resistors (which I'm guessing were probably integral). The original LEDs likely do not exist any longer, and the "height" is problematic.

If anyone can provide approximate dimensions on the LEDs, it'd be a start. Thanks!

I made a replacement few years back, let me see if I still have the files somewhere on my PC.

I found it!
It'a PDF file you can print on a special paper on Laser Printer and then iron on PCB.
Use 2 Square LEDs on each side, orientation of the LEDs...check the previous post picture.

PS. don't mind the second PCB, it's not related.

If you have any information on the LEDs, that'd really be great - just want to see what's available that might suffice.

I used 2xRED and 2xGREEN rectangle LEDs 5mm x 2mm and 7mm height.

Something like this: https://www.google.com/search?q=2x5x7mm+Rectangle+Green+led&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
Original dual LED dimensions are 10x2x8mm

I hope it helps.

Look closer at Matt's PIC. There is 1 hot wire and 2 Grounds for switching, Also there are 2 LED's in each module wired in series. If using 5Vdc a resistor may not be needed.
