Title: Mod players
Post by: Gav on March 04, 2004, 08:10:13 PM: Yeah does anyone know a good mod player that works just from wokbench?I have a voodoo so i need one to run from the wb screen...I would prefer one to start from wb rather than shell...

Was that a honest question? Because all players named above support XM/S3M/IT/ETC... Over 160 formats are supported. :-)

Including also:

Sega Master System music (loads game rom to play music)
NES music (both NSF and NESA)
ZXAY
SuperNES music
and many others! :-D

Post by: CaptainHIT on March 05, 2004, 12:13:12 AM: Btw, Eagleplayer has nice GUIs. The EMPYGui24 Bit module looks very good. It was the best looking soundplayer on any OS till newstyle Winamp skins were released :-(
And by the way, you also can use Winamp (oldstyle) skins with the EagleAmpGui module :-D

But i still prefer Delitracker to play my mods...
Why? Because it's a bit more stable than EaglePlayer is, in my opinion at least :-)

Post by: whabang on March 05, 2004, 12:47:56 PM: Hippoplayer and Deliplayer are the best. Never tried Deliplayer on a slow machine, but Hippoplayer barely takes any CPU power on a 7 MHz 68000.

I keep trying to play back the Cannon Fodder (2) intro music on DeliTracker, but it just freezes up on me every time :(

Of course ANR is the BEST NetRadio player but, until UG does something better, DeliTracker, to me, is the best mod player! ;-P

supports 98% formats out there.
I tested the others including hippo and eagleplayer, this is what I recommend.

Post by: SamuraiCrow on March 05, 2004, 06:51:04 PM: HippoPlayer is great for old systems but was written in machine language so it won't be portable to PowerPC. I don't know if DeliPlayer or EaglePlayer will be ported to PowerPC but they might be better suited to a modern system than HippoPlayer.

MOS port was a lifesaver as MorphOS doesn't have a dummy-device for audio.device, let alone emulation for paula.. same will apply to A1/OS4 aswell. So, I ask again: is it ported, or not?
